Dento- rubro- thalamic pathway

Abstract

The Dento-Rubro-Thalamic Pathway (VDRT) is the main output of the cerebellum, it begins from the dentate nuclei and takes over in the red nuclei to end in the ventral intermediate nucleus. This pathway participates in modulating both motor functions and cognitive functions.
Due to the multiple functions it fulfills, this pathway is an important therapeutic target for the neurosurgical treatment of various pathologies.
