Abstract

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome type I and II, known as causalgia or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome, is a chronic pain disease, that is believe to be the result of dysfunctional stimulus by the Central nervous system and by the peripheral nervous system. The pain generally follows trauma with or without nervous injury or infection, even though sometimes obvious tissue injury is apparent. The exact pathologic mechanism is not known, but it is believe to be the result from an abnormal neuron activity, which affects the whole nervous system, leading to problems in blood circulation, temperature and sensibility, and last affecting muscles, skin, nerves, blood vessels and bones.
