Dear colleagues, readers, friends "You only know well what you see being born and developing." Aristotle summed up the value of knowledge as such in this simple phrase. A year ago we witnessed the birth, launch and first steps of a project that began many years ago, and which, for multiple reasons, had been impossible to undertake: NeuroTarget. Today we meet with you once again to welcome you to a new edition of the magazine and express our complete satisfaction at having fulfilled and exceeded our desire and commitment. We will respect the sections proposed from the beginning of the publication with the objective that you receive the scientific material in an organized manner. In this way, and assuming that the current state of a science cannot be understood in all its dimensions, much less glimpse its future without a historical perspective of it, we will have the review of the prolific career of Prof. Francisco Velasco Campos, pioneer, reference and driving force of functional neurosurgery for Latin America and invaluable source of consultation.
