Pudendal nerve: an anatomical review with a clinical approach.

Chronic pelvic pain is an entity that constitutes a medical challenge due to its devastating consequences on the quality of life and the complexity in the therapeutic diagnostic management of many patients. A prevalence range is estimated from 5.7% to 26% in women, and 8% in men. It manifests itself with perineal pain that can make it difficult for the patient to sit, which affects her quality of life and can often have a negative impact on her personality. It is of multiple etiology, but for the purposes of this article neuralgia of the pudendal nerve will be prioritized.
