Abstract

Within the framework of an Argentine congress but with a marked international call and lasting 4 days, the XIX Argentine Congress of Pain was held, organized by the Argentine Association for the Study of Pain (AAED). On its first day, it consisted of an unprecedented experience for Researchers in its version of the Ist Pre-Congress Course on Basic Research in Pain Mechanisms and its clinical application, this activity being carried out in the facilities of the Universidad Austral and being coordinated by Professor Marcelo Villar, current rector of this prestigious educational institution. Likewise, during the following days our traditional Congress for Doctors was held, with topics that captured the attention of various specialists linked to the study and treatment of Pain, simultaneously taking place the different Conferences and Meetings for Physical Therapists, Nursing, Neuromodulation Specialists (and members in turn from the Argentine Society of Neuromodulation that brings them together), Functional Neurosurgeons (these members of the Latin American Society of Functional Neurosurgery and Stereotaxia), Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Palliative Care Specialists. All these activities were carried out at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) between October 8 and 10, leaving for the last day the IV Pain Intervention Course (Hands-on) that was taught at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires
