Abstract

Lumbar radicular pain occurs in approximately 13-40% of the general population, which can be of mechanical and/or irritative origin, the latter as a result of material from the nucleus pulposus spilled into the area.1-3 Knowledge is necessary of the anatomy of Kambin's safety triangle, for the medical and/or surgical management of multiple pathologies in relation to this area, radicular pain being one of the main symptoms. It should be noted that knowledge of this anatomy is essential for the minimally invasive management of painful degenerative pathology of the lumbar spine.
